Although there are many reasons why people choose their professions, I spend my life doing something I believe is about relationships, character building and spreading the love. I’ve formally been a teacher for a year, yet I feel like I have been doing this forever. From being a counselor at many summer camps, to working with developmentally disabled children, my passion has always been to share my time with youth, in order to help make a difference in their lives. 

My teaching strategies express who I am, a non-traditional person, who believes in people’s abilities to excel primarily through love and support, rather than only academic knowledge.   Building strong connections with students and allowing them to truly express who they are is one of the most important elements of both my professional career, as well as my personal values.

Growing up in a multicultural city like Toronto, I quickly came to appreciate all different cultures.  I enjoy experiencing the diversity that surrounds me.  I am a fluent French speaker, and I am currently brushing up on my Spanish as well.  I find that communicating with people in a language that they understand enriches my relationships with all those I come into contact with and helps me understand that we are all one.
